Chogiwa – A surprise came from EXO to their fans, EXO-L, who have been waiting for their comeback since Obsession in 2019. EXO comeback confirmed on their 9th anniversary debut day which is today, April 8th, 2021. It is unavoidable for EXO to enter their hiatus period since some of their members should serve mandatory military service. However, after D.O. and Xiumin’s discharge, they have enough members to comeback. In the short time, before Chanyeol and Baekhyun fulfill their mandatory military service, they managed to have a comeback with six members.
EXO Comeback Confirmed on Their 9th Anniversary Debut Day
EXO-L must be ecstatic last night when EXO posted a video spoiler about their new MV which took out space and aircraft concept. In the videos, there are Chanyeol, D.O., Xiumin, Baekhyun, Kai, and Sehun talking excitedly about their upcoming MV and album. It is going to be their very first comeback without Suho and Chen. Unfortunately, Lay is still not able to join the squat yet due to his schedule in China.
In the short video, all of them shared their thought and feeling toward the MV. D.O. even performed short dance moves which probably part of their new choreography.
The timing is perfect, EXO comeback confirmed on their 9th anniversary debut day as part of the celebration. Though, for EXO-L, their comeback is not a surprise at all because all of them have dropped some spoilers before. One example when Baekhyun wrote in his bubble that “EXO’s will be out”. Then, Xiumin also stated during his online fans’ meeting. he said that they had a shooting schedule for EXO’s new MV. D.O. who suddenly stopped dropping spoiler in his bubble about his own schedule. Thus a hint, he’s been doing something else outside his personal schedule. However, still, though there are a lot of spoilers, the surprise still hit it hard.
EXO’s Enlistment Traditional Continues

It seems like the video spoiler is not enough. On the same day, they also share the fact that EXO’s enlistment tradition still continues for Chanyeol’s enlistment. EXO has a unique tradition for a member who is about to start their mandatory military service. The member with a bald head will stand in the middle surrounded by the remaining members who touch his bald head.
The tradition started when Xiumin left to start his mandatory military service in 2019. Then they repeated the tradition with D.O., Suho, and Chen. However, when Chanyeol left last month, March 29th, there was no such traditional photo. Though there are some speculations why there is no such tradition for Chanyeol. Fans start to accept the fact that probably the tradition is forced to stop due to Covid-19 health protocol.
Well, 10 days later, a photo of Chanyeol with a bald head, surrounded by the remaining EXO members has been regulated. It is clear that the reason why they didn’t share the photo on the day Chanyeol left for the military is that the photo is taken during the MV shooting. All of them are wearing uniforms for the MV which will ruin the surprise if they share the picture earlier.
EXO is one of the K-Pop groups that is as solid as rock until today. They have struggled in the past but then they made a promise to stay together for themselves and EXO-L. Even in the short time after D.O. and Xiumin’s discharges and before Chanyeol and Baekhyun’s enlistments, they managed to comeback for their fans.
Not only EXO comeback confirmed on their 9th anniversary debut day, but SM Entertainment also confirmed that EXO’s new album. The album will be out in the first half of this year. So, don’t miss it since 2021 will be full of EXO.
