Blackpink’s Jisoo Breaks Record for Highest Pre-Orders Achieved
It is not even her debut yet, Blackpink’s Jisoo is already making history as a solo artist. Now, she is on the way to making another record as the highest pre-orders achieved by a KPop female soloist in history.
On March 20, YG officially announced that Jisoo’s upcoming solo single album “ME” has hit a new record. The pre-order had surpassed 950,000 stocks. With this number, according to YG, Jisoo has set a new record in history achieved by a KPop female soloist.
YG Entertainment stated, “Considering there are still 11 days left until the release date of the album. It may be worth it for Jisoo to secure the title of first KPop female soloist ‘million seller’”.
This number is calculated using various factors. Those factors are such as how many albums were pre-ordered by fans prior to the album release.
Even before the official release, Jisoo received a lot of attention for her solo debut. If Jisoo is able to sell a million copies of “ME”, she will become the fourth solo KPop artist in history to achieve the title “Million sellers”. She will follow other KPop solo artists such as Seo Taiji, EXO’s Baekhyun, and BTS’s Jin.
So, congratulations to Blackpink’s Jisoo on her new record! Fans are super excited for Jisoo’s solo debut with “ME’ with the title track “FLOWER” on March 31 at 1 p.m. KST. Please check out her latest teasers and always support her.
